Statement by Anar Alizade in response to the article in the French publication “Libération” and some others implicating him.

I categorically reject the unfounded and outrageous allegations levelled against me by the French publication “Libération”, according to which I was involved in financing and orchestrating the murder attempts of certain Azerbaijani blogger(s). These accusations are groundless and mislead the public. This express position was reflected in my official response published by “Libération” on the 03rd of January 2025 (available at: https://www.liberation.fr/societe/police-justice/mafieux-aux-barbes-decolorees-poignards-et-voitures-deglinguees-en-france-des-commandos-de-tueurs-aux-trousses-dun-opposant-azerbaidjanais-20241114_WY2YVHN4MRDBZHV5W6HZHPF5KY/?datawallToken=GFT-c91bfd8c99e910cf515e68ef2dd3413e), as well as in the paper version of the newspaper published on the 6th of January 2025.

I have always defended respect for freedom of expression and the rule of law, and I remain entirely available to cooperate with the authorities of any country if they have any questions.

The latest allegations, as well as previous unsubstantiated claims by other media concerning the illegal oil trade, are part of a deliberate and coordinated campaign by some opponents aimed at damaging my business and personal reputation.  All these accusations, amplified by certain biased media and some opponents, lack evidence and credibility.

I once again call on all responsible media to check all the facts carefully and to avoid perpetuating false stories based on unilateral statements and one-sided positions.  In the meantime, I reserve all rights against any party disseminating such groundless adverse publications.

I remain focused on my work and will not allow myself to be distracted by such transparent attempts at accusation without foundation or proof.

If any media repsresentatives have any further questions and before any publication referring to me, they are requested to contact my official media representatives at this e-mail address: [email protected]
